Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using BookFlik ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Value Vista Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales ("we", "us", "our").

For users under the age of 13, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on their behalf. For school (B2B) accounts, the school administrator agrees on behalf of all pupils.

BookFlik is designed for children aged 5–16 and their parents, guardians, and educators. There is no minimum age to use the app with parental consent.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Ensuring your account details are accurate and up to date
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their authorisation, or create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions.

BookFlik offers the following plans:

• Free tier: Up to 3 quiz attempts per month at no charge
• Premium (B2C): Unlimited quizzes at £4.99/month per account
• School (B2B): Per-pupil licensing — pricing agreed separately

Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment is charged to your App Store account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Refunds are handled in accordance with Apple App Store and Google Play Store refund policies. We do not offer refunds directly.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to interact with the App
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
• Upload or share any content that is harmful, offensive, or inappropriate
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
• Interfere with the App's security or performance

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.

All content within BookFlik — including the app design, quiz content, badge artwork, reading progress features, and AI-generated content — is owned by or licensed to Value Vista Ltd.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our written permission.

Book metadata (titles, authors, ISBNs) is sourced from public databases and publisher information. Quiz questions are AI-generated and do not reproduce copyrighted book content.

BookFlik is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be available uninterrupted or error-free
• AI-generated quiz questions will be 100% accurate
• Reading level assessments will match any specific educational standard

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Value Vista Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of BookFlik.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings or by emailing support@bookflik.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. We will provide reasonable notice where possible.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer in another jurisdiction, you may also have rights under the laws of that jurisdiction that cannot be excluded.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email. Continued use of BookFlik after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
